SISTEM PENDUKUNG KEPUTUSAN PEMILIHAN PROGRAM STUDI PERGURUAN TINGGI BERDASARKAN MINAT SISWA SMK SWASTA MANDIRI

Abstract

Abstract: Higher education is crucial for vocational high school (SMK) graduates to enhance their competencies in the workforce; however, interest among students at the Swasta Mandiri Deli Serdang Vocational High School in pursuing further education continues to decline each year due to family financial constraints and negative perceptions regarding the impact of higher education. This study aims to design and develop a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) to help students objectively determine the right study program. The decision-making method used is the Multifactor Evaluation Process (MFEP), which evaluates data on the interests and academic performance of students at Swasta Mandiri Vocational High School in Deli Serdang against four measurable criteria: Interest (weight 40%), Campus Location (weight 30%), Parental Support (weight 15%), and Report Card Grades (weight 15%). The results of functional testing using the Black Box method confirmed that all system features operate smoothly and as expected. In a simulation using student data for Annisa Putri Rantika, the system successfully recommended the Computer Science program as the best choice, with the highest evaluation score of 0.925. The main contribution of this research is the development of a web-based decision support system using PHP and MySQL that facilitates guidance counselors and parents in aligning students’ academic preferences. In conclusion, the implementation of the DSS using the MFEP method has proven to be effective, fast, and accurate in providing study program recommendations based on criteria.

Abstrak: Pendidikan tinggi sangat krusial bagi lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) untuk meningkatkan kompetensi di dunia kerja, namun minat siswa SMK Swasta Mandiri Deli Serdang untuk melanjutkan studi terus menurun setiap tahun akibat kendala ekonomi keluarga dan persepsi negatif terhadap pengaruh perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) berbasis website guna membantu siswa menentukan program studi yang tepat secara objektif. Metode pengambilan keputusan yang digunakan adalah Multifactor Evaluation Process (MFEP) dengan menguji data minat dan akademik siswa SMK Swasta Mandiri terhadap empat kriteria terukur, yaitu Minat (bobot 40%), Lokasi Kampus (bobot 30%), Dukungan Orang Tua (bobot 15%), dan Nilai Raport (bobot 15%). Hasil pengujian fungsional menggunakan metode Black Box membuktikan bahwa seluruh fitur sistem berjalan dengan lancar dan sesuai harapan. Pada simulasi data siswa atas nama Annisa Putri Rantika, sistem berhasil merekomendasikan program studi Teknik Informatika sebagai pilihan terbaik dengan perolehan nilai evaluasi tertinggi sebesar 0,925. Kontribusi utama penelitian ini adalah menghadirkan sistem penunjang keputusan berbasis web menggunakan PHP dan MySQL yang mampu memudahkan guru bimbingan konseling serta orang tua dalam menyelaraskan preferensi studi siswa. Kesimpulannya, penerapan SPK dengan metode MFEP terbukti efektif, cepat, dan akurat dalam memberikan rekomendasi program studi berdasarkan kriteria terukur secara transparan.
